Screamo désigne une variante des styles de musique emo et punk hardcore. Né en Californie dans les années 1990, le genre screamo reprend le lyrisme du style emo tout en y ajoutant un son plus trash.
Peu à peu, le terme screamo s'est démocratisé et désigne plus largement maintenant des groupes d'emo, de rock alternatif, de post-hardcore ou de punk hardcore plus affirmés.
